Erica Lashawn Dockery

Ms. Erica Lashawn Dockery, 36, of High Point transitioned on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Hospice Home of High Point surrounded by loved ones.

Erica was born on February 28, 1983 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Dottis L. Poole, Jr. and Pamela Barnes.  She was later chosen for adoption by Mrs. Katie Z. Dockery of High Point who loved and care for her as her own.

Erica was preceded in death by both her birth mother, and adopted mother.

Surviving relatives include her precious children, E’mya Batts, Duane Batts, and Essence Dockery; three sisters, Lynn Dockery, Julia Dockery, and Terry Zimmerman; two brothers, James and William Dockery, all of High Point; father, Dottis Poole, Jr., grandmother, Alice Allred of Fayetteville, N. C.; her special sweetie, Jalyn Hamlin; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be given from 11 to 12 noon, on Friday, September 13, 2019 at New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries, 215 Fourth Street, High Point, North Carolina.
