Eleuteria Reyes Castro, born on April 18, 1957, in San Luis, Mexico to the late Maria Reyes. Following a period of illness, she passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her residence. She moved to Rockingham County, North Carolina, with her family in 1992.
Eleutheria was fond of attending church and had a special place in her heart for Holy Infant Catholic Church in Reidsville, NC., and she loved attending church. Before retiring, she worked as a machine operator at Equity Corporation. In her leisure time, she enjoyed helping others, and was known for her cooking and baking skills. Having a special interest in her chickens, her daily routine was attending to her chicken coop, making sure they were well taken care of. Eleutheria was deeply devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with them.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandson, John Matthew Castro.
Surviving relatives: her loving husband of 49 years, Juan Castro; two daughters, Veronica Castro, and Columba Castro; one son, Juvenal Castro (Soraya); four grandchildren, Austin Bueno, Kathelin Castro, Joseph Castro, and Selenia Castro; other relatives and friends. Special appreciation to Dr. Gerald K. Hill and medical staff.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2024, at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 1042 Freeway Drive, with Father Frank J. Seabo, Jr. officiating. The Vigil Service will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening, April 14, 2024, at Holy Infant Catholic Church, with the family receiving friends following the service at the church.
