Dwayne Lee Obituary

Mr. Junius Dwayne Lee transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Hospice of High Point, surrounded by his family. He was born in High Point, NC, on November 15, 1972, to Junius Preston and the late Carol Ann Lee Dunlap.

In addition to his mother, He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clendora Lee; aunts, Mable Glover, Parthenia Davis, and Jean Parker; numerous aunts and cousins.

Wayne, affectionately called by his family and friends, graduated from High Point Central High School in 1992. He was employed for sixteen years as the Assistant Catering Manager at High Point University, where he oversaw eight concession areas in the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center. Additionally, he worked in the Presidential Suite for Dr. Nido Qubein. In 2021, he received the prestigious Annual Kenneth F. and Jana S. Kahn Extraordinary Staff Award for his dedicated service to the campus community and for exemplifying the university’s mission.

In 2005, Dwayne joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, High Point, NC. He was a dedicated member, serving as an usher, armor bearer, and head of the Culinary Ministry, where he prepared delicious food for church programs and activities.

Dwayne was a loving and caring person with a quiet demeanor. His kindness was evident in his thoughtful words and actions, leaving a lasting positive impact on everyone he met. He was a passionate sports fan who supported the LA Raiders in football and the San Antonio Spurs in basketball. He also enjoyed watching tennis. Dwayne cherished his family and spent quality time with them and his friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and caring wife, Latosha Lee of the home; his children, Javis lee, Jarvis Lee, Jameya Lee, Jalah Lee and Dy’Sheka Reed each of whom carries a piece of him in their lives; his siblings, April Lee, Shawn Preston and Kendrick Wall; mother-in-law, Myra McNeill; his close friend, Marlon Lee who was like a brother to him; one uncle and a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and friend who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM at New Beginning Full Gospel Ministries, 215 Fourth Street, High Point, NC. Family visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM. Service starts at 12:00 PM.
