Djimon Lucas, age 23 of High Point, North Carolina, passed away on October 4, 2021. Djimon, son of Teresa Lucas (Maurice Bethea) and Melvin Gonzalaz, was born on January 1, 1998.
A lifelong resident, Djimon received his education in the Guilford County School systems. At an early age he joined Trinity First Baptist in Trinity, North Carolina. Later in life, he attended New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries. He was very passionate about art, music, and sports. He was very resourceful and handy, always helping repair and improve electronics and furniture for his mother. Djimon loved to make those around him feel better with laughter and joy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Khloe Gilchrist; his beloved sister, Cinquelle Lucas and niece Azariah Gainey; two brothers, Jamel and Jacob Lucas; his maternal grandparents, Nettie Lucas (John Contreras); paternal grandparents, Melvin Audaz and Minerva Gonzalaz; uncles, Roosevelt Lucas (Danietta), John Lucas (Brenda), Tyrone Lucas, and Billy Lucas; aunts, Luz Audaz, Sandy Audaz, and Nieves Audaz; and a host of cousins and friends, including his best friend, Doobie, that he loved dearly.
Djimon will be truly missed by his family and friends. He will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of everyone he touched!
A private celebration of life will be given on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street, High Point, NC. The public viewing will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 1 to 7pm. Please adhere to all COVID 19 precautions. Wear your mask.
