On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in High Point, NC, God called Derreck Lamont Dewitt home. He was born December 19, 1970, to Vivian Dewitt Brown in High Point, NC.
He graduated from Wilson High School in Jacksonville, FL. While living in Jacksonville, he was a regional manager for several fast-food restaurant chains but enjoyed working for Burger King the most. He accepted Christ at the age of 12 while the family was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA.
Derreck has a lively personality, a sharp tongue, and a very opinionated personality. However, he LOVED his children and family. He loved listening to music, traveling, yard work, and his mother and stepfather, aka ‘dad.’ He lived in Jacksonville until his health declined and returned home to enjoy the peace, surrounded by family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters; Ashlin (Lilrandon) Bates and Victoria Dewitt both of Jacksonville, FL; mother Vivian (Burnise) Brown, High Point; three brothers, Rayvond (Tania) Dewitt of Upper Marlboro, MD, Carlos Dewitt of Greensboro, NC, Kevin (Cynthia) Brown of Greensboro, NC; one grand-daughter Gabrielle Bates; and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Burial will take place at 11am, on Friday, August 30, 2024 at GuilRand Memorial Park Cemetery, 1550 NC62, High Point, NC
