Dennis “Sensei” Scaife, 61, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2023. He was born to the now late Willie C. Scaife, Sr., and Rosia Mae Faniel Scaife on November 25, 1961.
During his school years in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Also, as a young man, he began a love for the Martial Arts and cooking for Fine Dining.
In 2008 Dennis received a certificate in Group Counseling for Substance Abuse from the College of Staten Island, New York. He also traveled all over the United States with the Furniture Market of North Carolina.
Dennis “Sensei” Scaife enjoyed instructing adults and children in Martial Arts classes in New Jersey, Staten Island, and North Carolina. He received many awards for Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, and Kung Fu. On April 15, 2023, he was awarded Judo Instructor of The Year at the “Deadly Secret CQC Banquet” held in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Dennis “Sensei” Scaife was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Scaife, Calvin Scaife, and Ernest Scaife; his sisters, Barbara Ann Still and Roseann (Rosia) Wilson.
Dennis is survived by his sisters, Mattie Pearl Hallback of Jacksonville, FL; Ann J. Townes, Christine Harris, Rebecca Scaife Dickenson all of High Point, NC and Vanessa Scaife (Elnora) of Princeville, NC; brothers, Willie C. Scaife, Jr., of Bridgeport, Conn; and John Scaife of High Point, NC; special aunt, Queen Faniel of New Jersey; special cousins, Michael M. Faniel, Sr. of High Point, NC; and a host of other aunts, uncles, great and great-great nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends that he loved.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Chapel of Johnson & Sons, 206 Fourth Street, High Point, NC. In every effort to protect our families, protective facial coverings are mandatory requirements.
