Mr. Carl Edward Melton, Jr., affectionately known as “Boot, Trillski, and Carl Jr.” by family and friends, started his life journey on December 8, 1993 in Norwalk, Ohio to Carl Edward Melton Sr. and Linda Chestnut Melton. He completed his journey on May 28, 2020.
Carl Jr. was led to Christ at an early age by forceful hands and was a faithful choir member which was directed by his mother. His favorite song was “Trouble Don’t Last Always”. He graduated from Prince George High School in Prince George, Virginia in 2012. He attended John Tyler Community College and became employed with Hillpheonix Inc.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Betty Kersey and his uncle Anthony Melton.
Carl Jr. was an avid athlete beginning at the age of 5; he developed a passion for football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field and displayed his talent well. His love for his family was genuine which was shared with all his babies although he had none of his own, especially his niece, Aniya, who he shared an unbreakable bond with. It was rarely a time when you didn’t see that million dollar smile on Carl’s face; and let’s not forget Trillski was the life of the party.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his parents, Carl Melton, Sr. and Linda Chestnut Melton; sisters, Cariel Melton, Solita Cathey, and Farren Franklin; grandparents, James and Hazel Chestnut; devoted aunts and uncles Brenda, Tarsha, Demetrius, Edward, David, Curt, Gregory, James, Jr. and Charles; devoted godparents, Dwan (Angela) McQueen, Karen Faust; two god brothers; special cousins which includes his gaming buddy Demetrus Jr.; additional devoted family, Reggie Horn & family, Maigan and the girls; special friend, Summer Wyatt and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be given at a private graveside service on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, North Carolina.
