Booker T Chandler

Mr. Booker T Chandler, 74, transitioned on Thursday, July 9th following an extended illness at the Meridian Center.

Booker was born on October 30, 1945 to Willie M. Chandler and Ruth S. Chandler in Anson County, North Carolina.  He treasured the time he spent with family and friends as well as fishing.  He had a great love of singing and was blessed with a golden voice.  He lifted his voice in praise and shared his talent with everyone when he was a part of a group named the Mighty Gospel Kings and The Gospel Samaritans.  He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Chandler; and two brothers, Willie Chandler, and Rufus Chandler.

Left to cherish loving memories of him are his sons, Bryant Edwards, and Tony Chapman; brothers, Otis Chandler (Ruby), Johnny Chandler (Phyllis), and Mart Chandler (Eugenia); two sisters, Ozella Blue and Linda Brown (James);  two grandchildren, Jaylan Edwards and Cryshaunda Rorie; great grandchild, Blair Lattimore; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and beloved friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Meridian Center and Booker's niece, Tonya Blue for their special care.

A private Homegoing Service will take place at The Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. 

Public viewing for Mr. Chandler will be on Tuesday from 1 to 5pm.
