Our cherished mother, Mrs. Betty Louise Brown Simmons, 75, a resident of Rockingham County passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was born in Guilford County on March 3, 1949, to the late Joe Brown and Lula Neal Brown.
Mrs. Betty Simmons was a former textile worker and a devoted member of Mount Carmel Holiness Church. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin. Her kind and compassionate nature made her a beloved member of our community, and she had many acquaintances who cherished her friendship. May her memory continue inspiring us to live our lives with the same devotion she exemplified.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening and playing bingo with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Simmons; daughter, Celestine Palmer; son, Mark Simmons; grandson, John JeCole Mullins, and two brothers, Robert Brown and Junior Brown.
Survivors include her daughters, Regenia Mullins (John) and Teressa Simmons, and her son, Robert Simmons. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friends, Annie Bell Hairston and Koren Martin; special niece, Jackie Simmons; other nieces, nephews and friends.
We are grateful for the time we had with her, and we will always hold her memory dear in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenview Cemetery, 1004 Montgomery Street, Reidsville, NC.
