Anita Lavonne Kearns

Anita Lavonne Kearns, 67, transitioned on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Woodland Hill Center.  Anita was born on September 19, 1951 in High Point to William T. Kearns and Rosa Kirkland Kearns.  She had been a longtime resident of Thomasville where she attended Thomasville City Schools and graduated in 1972.

A woman of faith, she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served as a missionary, on the nurses’ ministries, Sunday school attendee and Greeter.

Anita was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Kearns; brothers, Aaron Kearns and Ausbey Kearns.

Surviving relatives include her loving father, William T. Kearns; sister, Rhonda Murphy; brother, Patrick Kearns; two aunts, Betty Lewis (Carl), and Carol Desir; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be given 12 O'clock Noon on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 204 Turner Street, Thomasville, North Carolina.  The family will receive visitors and friends at 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the church.  Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown.
