Alice Priscilla (Neal) Jones

Alice Priscilla Neal Jones went home to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2026. Alice was born to Earlie Roscoe and Dora Edna Ashe Neal of Reidsville, N.C., on June 10, 1934. Her grandmother, Dora Linda Morehead Ashe, helped raise Alice after her mother became ill during the childbirth of Alice’s twin siblings, Marian and Milton.

Alice was a lifelong member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Reidsville, N.C. She attended Booker T. Washington Elementary. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at A&T State University, pursuing a degree in teaching.

Alice married the love of her life, Newton Wesley Jones. From this union, God blessed them with two loving children, Wesley T. Jones and Kimberly (Jones) Chandra.

In her early years, she changed her year of birth from 1934 to 1933 to obtain her driver's license a year early. Alice's mind was always advanced, and she was very ambitious. She did not allow societal norms to hinder her from achieving her goals. In her mid-years, she sold life insurance, drawing on her entrepreneurial spirit and drive, and launched her own business, Jones Janitorial, in the 1990's.

As her career dwindled, the next phase of her life began: she became a grandmother. Her grandsons, Kalin and Dougie, lovingly called her "June," and she, in turn, called them her "Junebugs."

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Wesley Jones; father, Earlie Roscoe Neal; mother, Dora Edna Ashe Neal; grandmother, Dora Linda Morehead Ashe; brothers, Reuben Earl Neal and Milton Neal; and sisters, Vivian Neal Blackwell and Marian Evonne Neal Tompkins.

Alice leaves behind to cherish her memory and legacy: son, Wesley Jones, aka Chuck; spouse, Janice; daughter, Kimberly (Jones) Chandra; and spouse, Kailash. Five grandchildren: Wesley Kelley, Alice Marie, Tyrone, Greensboro, N.C.; Kalin Jones and John Joyner III. (Dougie), Florida; several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to her nieces, Cynthia and Linda Tompkins.

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, we will lay my mother's body to rest exactly 44 years from the day my father, Wes, went home to Heaven. She would always say, "I'm old and tired!" You lived a long and purpose-filled life, Mother. Now you can take your rest.

Thank you to the staff at the Cone Health Penn Nursing Center for the loving care and kindness extended to Alice over the last few years.

A homegoing service celebrating the life of Alice will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. from the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 9800 US Highway 158 West, Reidsville, NC 27320. Rev. Samuel A. Moore will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the family plot of Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 179 Jones Chapel Road, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the church. ~Johnson & Sons.
