HIGH POINT

Mr. Sylvester Allen, 57, of High Point died Thursday, August 3, 2006, at High Point Regional Health System.

Mr. Allen, a High Point native, was born on August 15, 1948, to the late Willie and Annie Brown Allen. He attended the public schools, was a member of Another Chance Gospel Church and a former employee of Flowers Bakery.

Surviving relatives include his former wife, Sarah Allen of High Point; four sons, Albert Brockman of Burgaw, Otis D. Allen of High Point, Patrick (Sandra) Allen of New York City and Quavester Allen of Greensboro; one daughter, Consuela (Chad) Marshall of High Point; five stepchildren; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (Janis) Allen of High Point and Timothy (Elsie) Allen of Barbados, West Indies; five sisters, Glenda A. Fleming, Sandra (Rev Fletcher) Little, Ruth (Allen) Dow, Linda (Minister Robert) Harrison, all of High Point, and Sherril Covington of Greensboro; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral will be Monday, August 7, 2006, 3:00 p.m., at Haizlip Funeral Home Chapel, 206 Fourth St., with Pastor Fletcher Little, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Family visitation will be at the chapel Monday, from 2:30 until 3:00 p.m., and other times at the residence of his sister Mrs. Linda and Minister Robert Harrison, 505 Rosecrest Dr.

Haizlip Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
