Pasedia LeDane Mills

Pasedia LeDane Mills was called home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her residence.  She was born on April 26, 1954 in Richland County, South Carolina to Robert Mills and Willie Mae Holland Mills.

LeDane attended Griffin Junior High, Howard University, and High Point College, as a Bible scholar.  She also attended the North Carolina Governor’s School and the North Carolina School of the Arts as a very talented flutist.  She was gifted in singing and dancing, and would entertain the family at their many gatherings in her younger years.  As the “oldest girl grandchild”, she was truly loved by her family and she loved them.  LeDane was a dedicated care-giver for her mother for the past several years.  She was very organized and always ready to serve.

LeDane loved hymns and knew the words to ALL of the verses.  She also loved fashion and looking nice.  She was an avid reader and loved nurturing  plants, flowers and trees.

Being very thoughtful of the needs of others, she started a food drive for Hampton Elementary School.  She took care to send cards with very sincere notes and often included pictures to show her gratitude for the help she received.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother.

LeDane will be missed and her memory cherished by her mother, Willie Mae Mills; her brother, Dwight Mills (Judy) of Raleigh, NC; her sister, Dr. Patricia Smith of Fredericksburg, VA; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bethel Glenola United Methodist Church building fund.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:30 pm on Monday, September, 17, 2018 at Bethel Glenola United Methodist Church, 3229 Old Glenola Rd, Achdale, NC 27263.  Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.  The family will receive visitors and friends at the church on Monday, 12 noon to 12:30pm
