Jeanette Uleen (Spikes) Roberts

Mrs. Jeanette Spikes Roberts, 90, transitioned on Wednesday September 18, 2019.  Jeanette was born on September 24, 1928 to Miller Spikes and Emma Sanders Spikes in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

Mrs. Roberts loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed devoting time to her daily scriptures, gospel music and Bible study.  She was a dedicated member of Greater First United Baptist Church.  She also cherished her time with family, making people laugh, cooking, taking trips and the beach.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Roberts, brothers, William and Hardell Spikes; sisters, Helen Thompson, Juanita Mingo, and Lucy Mason; son, Tommy Petty, and great grandson, Darius T. Turner.

Survivors include sons, James A. Roberts (Hazel) of High Point, and Willie L. Roberts (Louanna) of Durham; daughters, Shelia Barthell, Donise Roberts, and Joyce Watkins (Leroy) all of High Point; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Abdul Shakir; sisters-in-law, Lillian Newton, and Mattie P. Spikes; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be given at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Greater First United Baptist Church, 1409 Deep River Rd.  The family will receive visitors and friends from 11:30 to 12 noon, at the church and other times at the residence.  Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Memorial Park.
