James Murray, Jr. Obituary

James Bernard Murray, Jr. was born to Michelle Renee Terry Johnson and James Bernard Murray, Sr. on April 2, 2000.  Bernard went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2019 at the tender age of eighteen.

Bernard was affectionately known by several nicknames given to him by his mother, siblings, uncles and cousins.  They included, Jamie, J. J., King James and Dirt Bike James.  Born in High Point, he attended Guilford County Schools.  "J J" was gifted even as a young child and he was an avid learner.  His hobbies included drawing, dancing, fishing, and riding dirt bikes with his friends.  James taught himself how to repair things.  Talented with his hands, he enjoyed fixing anything he could get his hands on including bicycles, dirt bikes, four wheelers and motor vehicles. He even took a motor out of a car, rebuilt it and put it back all by himself. Not only was he loved and respected by friends and relatives, but by the community.  "Jamie" was a respectful, humble and charismatic young man who never argued with or disrespected anyone.  For the last few years he lived with his special aunt and uncle, Patricia and Dan Fuller in Georgetown.

James had a special bond with his mother, Michelle who called him her "gifted baby".  His motto was, "Bikes up, Guns down"

James was preceded in death by his step dad, Dewey Johnson; grandmother, Frances Terry; aunts, Teresa Campbell, and Imogene Smith; and close friend, Raekwon Smith.

James is survived by his parents, Michelle Johnson and James Murray, Sr.; siblings, Jamilia Johnson, Jacinda Johnson, Jermaine Welch, Derrick Welch, and Hykeem Wright; two step brothers; two step sisters; nephews & nieces, Dwayne, Jamarri, Noel, Derrick, Jr., Zemeriah, Daviana, and Jesslyn; special aunt and uncle, Paricia and Dan; special cousins, Shawanna Terry, Darrius Fuller, Damorius Fuller, and Abresha Fuller; aunt, Sharon Fuller; his first true love, Jewell Mack; close friends, Peter Allen Rayshaun Mebane, and Rhaheem Murphy; a host of other relatives and beloved friends.
