Mrs. Ida Belle Hinton Brannon transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 17, 2019. She was 100 years of age and surrounded by loved one at her residence.
Ida was born on February 26, 1918 to Charlie Hinton and Francis Clark Hinton in High Point, North Carolina. She grew up in a loving and nurturing family who instilled in her the value of hard work, a commitment to family and a belief that all things are possible through the Grace and Mercy of God. A lifelong resident of Guilford County, she was active and well known in the community. Mrs. Brannon was a woman of faith and endeavored to serve God and her church family well. She was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was a Mother of the Church, Sunday School Teacher, on the Kitchen and Programs Committees, and a member of Missionary Circle #1. She was formerly employed with Adams Millis Hosiery and Marsh Furniture. In her senior years she was a part of AARP, Carl Chavis and Morehead Center groups. She will be remembered for her graceful countenance, since of style and warm personality.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Filmer L. Brannon; a brother, Willis Hinton; sisters, Elizabeth McCoy, and Rosa Lee Holley.
Left to cherish loving memories include her devoted daughter, Betty Brannon Simon, (James, Sr.); two grandsons, James E. Simon, II (Suzanne), and Jermaine L. Simon; one great grandchild, Marcus Simon; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and beloved friends.
A Service of Celebration will be 12 noon, Monday, February 25, 2019 at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 833 Leonard Avenue. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, NC. The family will receive visitors and friends from 11 am to 12 noon at the church on Monday.
