Ellis Nance was born on November 22, 1966 in High Point, North Carolina to James Nance and Eunice Henderson Nance.  His earthly journey came to an end on Tuesday morning, March 2, 2017 at his residence at the age of fifty.

Ellis was a natural comedian who loved to cook and clean.  He enjoyed music, making people laugh and even though he was a quiet man never met a stranger.  Even when he suffered physically in pain he never complained.  Ellis was known to be a champion for his wife.  He loved and protected her with great honor.  They were a special couple.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Quatisha M. S. Nance, a grandchild and a brother, James Nance.

Surviving relatives include his loving wife of twenty-four years, Evelyn Stotts Nance; three sons, Joshua T. Nance, Ellis R. Nance, and Travis M. Nance all of High Point; thirteen grandchildren; four sisters, Gloria Bostic (Charles), Deborah Nance (Clarence), Darlene Nance and Mary Nance Cribb of High Point and Greensboro; two brothers, Johnny R. Nance of High Point and Robert Nance of Greensboro; maternal grandmother, Eloise Whitworth and step grandfather, Samuel Whitworth; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be 1:00pm, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home.  The family will receive visitors from 12:30 to 1:00pm.  Burial will follow at GuilRand Memorial Park in High Point.
