Donnie Faye (Williams) Rudd

December 3, 1949 ~ September 6, 2017 (age 67) 67 Years Old


Mrs. Donnie Faye Williams Rudd took flight for her eternal home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 3, 1949 to the late Mack Williams and the late Geraldine Covington Williams Bynum. Donnie grew up in the Florence Community and resided in High Point, NC her entire life. She attended Florence Elementary School and graduated from Ragsdale High School. She worked and retired from the Guilford County Department of Public Health in High Point after 27 years of service as a Community Health Assistant (CHA). She worked for the Presbyterian Homes, Inc. for 20 years as a CNA.  Her loving and caring spirit will never be forgotten. Donnie has a lot of great friends and she loved her family. Her grandchildren were her world.

Donnie was a lifetime member of Turners Chapel AME Church and she loved her church family. She served as the President of the Stewardess Board for many years until her health no longer allowed her to serve. She also was a member of the Jackson Lindsey Missionary Society and a faithful Class Leader.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her husband of 43 years, Carson Rudd, her only child Angela D. Davis (fiance’ Patrick McCorkle) of High Point. Stepsons Todd Foster and Darrin McInnis of High Point. Her grandchildren, Brandon Rudd (Gerayli) of High Point and Norman Davis Jr. of Charlotte. Dorian Bostic, Terrell McMaster, Quadiaus Marsh, Ashley Clinton, Toddrika Foster, all of High Point. Mariah Wall and Kameel Wall of Greensboro. Two great-grandchildren, Kaylen Barber Rudd and Kylie Rudd. Her sisters Deloris Reese of Florida, Dianna Teasley, Gale Melton, and Beverly Lewis of High Point, Wanda Davis of Raleigh, NC and  Adrienne Williams of New York. Brothers Karl Walker (Barbara) of Bermuda Run, NC, Gil Williams (Sandra), Bryant Williams, Glen Williams all of Long Island New York. One brother-in-law Claude Barrier of New Jersey. A host of nieces and nephews, two God Children Lamarius Love and Cole Baldwin. She was preceded in death by two brothers Donald Ray Williams, and Eric Williams, one sister Vanessa Williams and three brother-in-laws Roy Lee Rudd, Donald Ray Rudd, and Elmer Melton, Jr.. 

A Service of Celebration will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Turner's Chapel AME Church, 7615 Florence School Drive, High Point.  The family will receive visitors and friends at the church on Monday, 11 to 11:30 am.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
