High Point

Darrell Norman Simon, Sr. was born on September 17, 1950 to Mamie Leake Simon in Guilford County.  Educated in the public school system, he was a graduate of William Penn High School and attended Guilford Technical Community College and A&T State University.  Darrell also proudly served in the United States Air Force.  He worshiped at Temple Memorial Baptist Church.

He enjoyed all manners of sports, with baseball being his favorite.  He loved to joke and have fun with people.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Leonard Simon, Jr.

Darrell departed this life on April 1, 2017.  He leaves to cherish loving memories a son, Darrell N. Simon, Jr. (Deon Evans) of High Point; daughter, Tera L. Simon-Grier (David) of Greensboro; brother, James Simon (Betty); sisters, Carolyn Craig (William), Gloria Hinson, and Dianne Linton (Theodore) and Shirley Padgett all of High Point; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

  A Memorial Service will be 2 0'clock pm on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street.
