Clara Mae Farabee, 97, transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, July 5, 2019. Clara was born on May 24, 1922 to Mary Holmes Farabee and Walter Farabee in Davidson County, North Carolina.
Clara, who was born and raised in Thomasville, was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Faithful to her calling to serve God's people, she was a church officer, church council member, choir member, church clerk, and finance committee member. She also serve her community by making women look good; she was a well known beautician. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to share her baking skills with them.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by all her siblings; sisters, Bessie Farabee, Eva Farabee, Margie Miller, Essie Brayboy, and Emma Dorsett; brothers, Paul Farabee, John Farabee, Harvey Farabee, Clarence Farabee, and Julius Farabee.
She leaves to cherished fond memories a son, Rickie Lee Farabee; two grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be given on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 204 Turner Street, Thomasville, North Carolina. Family visitation will be 12 to 12:30 p.m. and service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
