Catherine Ballard Stevenson, 84,  transitioned on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.  Catherine was born on January 9, 1934 to Margaret Caldwell Ballard and Findeson Ballard here in High Point.

Mrs. Stevenson enjoyed and took great pride in traveling around the United States laboring for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was a graduate of William Penn High School, The Bible Training Institute of Cleveland, TN, and a student of Tomlinson College of Cleveland, TN.  As a minister of the gospel, she pastored six churches from Hartwell, Georgia to Durham, North Carolina.  She held many offices and positions within the church including Overseer, Sunday School Teacher, Children's Church Director, videographer, musician, district and local church reporter.  She held a special love for working with the youth. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ebenezer Rucker, and Evelyn B. Mays; and a brother, A. D. Ballard.

Surviving relatives include two brothers, Willie C. Ballard, Sr., and Phillip E. Ballard, Sr.; a sister, Sandra McLendon (James, Sr.) ; a host of great,  and great great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and beloved friends.

 The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Shannon Gray Rehab and Recovery Center for the wonderful care they provided for their beloved.

A Celebration of her Beautiful Life will take place 1:30 pm Sunday, November 4, 2018 from the Church of God of Prophecy, 1100 Stanton Place, High Point, NC 27260 with Bishop Floyd D. Collins, Sr. serving as eulogist. Burial will take place at Piedmont Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem, NC. The family visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm until 1:30 pm at the church and other times at her residence, 2809-A Moreland Avenue.  Johnson & Sons Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
