High Point - Barbara McClain Boyce, age 76, peacefully entered her eternal rest on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on February 16, 1942 to John McInnis and Lannie Blanche Trottie.
Barbara was fondly called “Bobbie Jean” by her family and friends and was a longtime resident of High Point. She attended William Penn High School and later she proudly received her GED.
Bobbie Jean worked as a CNA for years. This proved to be a perfect career choice as she loved helping people. Everyone always knew when she was on the scene because she had a way of lifting everyone's spirit. It was almost impossible to be sad or down around her. Even if you were on the receiving end of her jokes, you knew she loved you.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Willie Sykes Jr, and Harvey McClain; and a grandson, Eric Moore.
She leaves to treasure fond memories her loving husband of 57 years, Daniel Boyce; two sons, John (Lois) Boyce of Statesville and Anthony (Linda) Boyce, of High Point; two daughters, Shirelle (Thomas) Allen of Mcleansville and Wytina (Darrell) Blackmon of Greensboro; one brother, Miller Trottie of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Kendra, Scottie, and Darion; great grandchild, Melanie; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday evening, June 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Stephen AME Zion Church, 1012 Leonard Avenue, High Point, NC 27260.
