Mrs. Annie Ruth Clinton of 6148 Blue Lantern Rd., Gibsonville, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at home with her family. Annie was born on July 16, 1916 to Edward Belo and Flora Moffitt Belo. She was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother to the Clinton family, and a big sister to the Belos. She was a faithful member to Glenola United Methodist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and with the United Methodist Women.
In addition to her parents her husband, Oddie D. Clinton, Sr., six sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Oddie Clinton, Jr., and Dwight Clinton; two grandsons, Kelvin D. Clinton, Sr. and Anthony Lynch Sr.; brother, Winfred Belo (Glenna) of Archdale; sisters, Dovie Rush of High Point, and Hilda Rector (Roy) of Winston-Salem; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Flaherty of South Carolina, and Lorraine Clinton of Greensboro; a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be 12 noon on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Bethel-Glenola United Methodist Church, 3229 Old Glenola Rd., Archdale. The family will receive visitors and friends from 11:30 am to noon on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
