Edna Lilly Obituary

Ms. Edna Earl Barringer Lilly, 98, answered God’s heavenly call on Feb. 20, 2018, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Edna was born on February 16, 1920 to Mamie and Rev. George W. Barringer in Guilford County.  A lifelong resident of High Point, she was a graduate of William Penn High School.  Ms. Lilly was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church where she was a Mother of the church and also a member of the choir.  She was a treasure in her community.  She had cookouts and would feed the neighborhood kids as well as anyone who was hungry.  She was a quiet and humble person but was not afraid to reach out to the needy.  And she did it all in great style.  Ms. Lilly loved shopping, dressing well and insisted on her high heels.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Margarie.

Left to cherish fond memories are her daughter, Rosa Davis of High Point; sons, George E. Davis (Louise) of High Point, Minister Willie Davis (Minister Shirley) of Kernersville, and Keith W. Lilly of High Point; grandchildren, Kim Davis (Minister Tonya), Tracey D. Jenkins (Jerry), Anthony Davis, Wakeena Johnson, Keisha Taylor, Ron M. Davis, Ron M. Davis, and Gregory L. Davis (Maria); great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends including special friends, Ella and Francina.

A funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 903 E. Kearns Avenue, with Rev. Alphonso Martin.  Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, NC.  The family will receive visitors and friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday and other times at 603 Vail Avenue.
