Mrs. Christine Watts, 80, a resident of 400 N. Main St., #609, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Mrs. Watts was born October 17, 1924 in Wake County, a daughter of the late Willie Leroy and Lizzie Johnson Hartsfield. Coming from Raleigh, she lived most of her adult life in High Point, where she was a former member of St. Stephen A.M.E. Zion Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing, and spending time with her family. Her husband, Jason C. Watts, parents, four brothers, and nine sisters, all preceded her in death.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Jimmie (Katina) Watts, of Thomasville, Roy Watts, and Fredrick (Cynthia) Watts, all of High Point; three daughters, Jacqueline Harrington, Sandra (Howard) Austin, all of High Point, and Susan (William) Hairston, of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Giles, of Pittsburgh, Penna., and Doris Saunders, of Camden, N.J.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be Saturday, 1:00p.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 833 Leonard Ave., by the Rev. William Hairston. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown. Family visitation will be at the church Saturday, 12:30p.m., and other times at the home of Jacqueline Harrington, 3213 Loftyview Dr. Haizlip Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
