Mrs. Blanche Elizabeth Gannaway Dorsette, 95, a resident of 1311 Pleasant St., died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Mrs. Dorsette was born December 4, 1909 in Trinity, a daughter of Ernest and Sallie Alford Gannaway. For the past 20 years, she was a resident of Winston Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dorsette; daughter, Sarah D. Holmes; two sons, Clarence and Charles Dorsette; four sisters, Pearl Gannaway, Grace McDonnell, Bessie Henard and Myrtle Smith; one brother, Vernel Gannaway; one sister-in-law, Anne Gannaway; and two brothers-in-law, Julius Henard and James McDonnell.

Surviving relatives to cherish fond memories include: one daughter, Margaret D. Ingram and devoted husband and caregiver, Caesar, of Winston Salem; three sons, Frank Dorsette, Leon Dorsette and wife, Lovie, all of High Point, and George Dorsette of Winston Salem; 15 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother-in-law, William D. Smith of Petersburg, Va.; other relatives and friends.

The family is grateful to the staffs fo Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and Hospice Palliative Care; caregivers Tanya Chandler, Frieda Redmon, and Jeanette Tate; special friends and caregivers, Mrs. Angela Redmon and Tennile Gardner.

Funeral will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Greater First United Baptist Church by the Rev. William S. Fails. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Family visitation will be at the church Thursday, 1:30 p.m., and other times at residence of her son Frank Dorsette, 603 Radford St., High Point.

Haizlip Funeral Home, 206 Fourth St., High Point, is in charge of arrangements.
