Annie Maxine (Bostic) Ingram

August 11, 1926 ~ May 26, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old


Mrs. Annie Maxine Bostic Ingram, 90, departed this life on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery  Center in Jamestown, NC., following a lengthy illness.

Maxine was born August 11, 1926 in High Point, NC., to Rufus Bostic, Sr., and Corriner Bogans Bostic. Maxine was educated in the High Point Public Schools, graduated from William Penn High School and she also attended nursing school in Greensboro, NC.  She was married to John (Red) Ingram, Jr., in 1946 and to this union three children were born.  She was formerly employed at Globe Parlor Furniture and later at Burlington Industries until her retirement in 1983.

Maxine was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Congregational Church, later named Congregational United Church of Christ. She was a dedicated member and served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, church clerk, member of Pastor's Aide, Trustee Board, Women's Fellowship, member of Church Women United and ultimately ordained as a Deacon. She was also very active in Bible Study.  Active in the community, she was a member of the Nathaniel Morehead Recreation Center, Senior citizens group and the Pointer's Club.

Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved her family and her greatest joy was having her family come together, especially during the holidays and birthdays.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, John (Larry) Ingram, and two brothers, Herbert Bostic and Rufus Bostic, Jr.

Surviving relatives include one son, Donald Ingram (Carolyn) of Clayton, NC; one daughter, Gloria Jean Bellamy (Larry) of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren, John Larry Ingram (Amesha), Lynn N. Ingram, Jay Ingram (Kesha), Jonathan Ingram, D. Ray Ingram, Jr., Eric Ingram (Tara), Katrina Ingram and Corryn Bellamy; fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a special friend, Hal Hines.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon, visitation 11:00am at the Congregation United Church of Christ, 401 Gordon Street.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, North Carolina.
